Jeremiah
Who is Jeremiah? Jeremiah is a major Old Testament prophet who proclaimed God's word in Judah's final years, called the people to repentance, and carried a message of hope amid destruction and exile.
Jeremiah is a prophet called during the period when the kingdom of Judah was moving toward collapse. His task was not easy: he warned the people, rulers, and religious order about unfaithfulness to God, and for this he faced resistance, isolation, and at times persecution. Yet his ministry is not only about announcements of judgment. In the midst of destruction, Jeremiah also emphasizes that God has not utterly abandoned His people and that hope for repentance and renewal remains. In this way, he stands out as a prophet who speaks painful truth while still carrying hope for the future. You can explore Jeremiah's life and message in the chapters below.

Why did Jeremiah face so much opposition?
Because Jeremiah delivered warnings that the people and leaders did not want to hear. He openly said that trust in the temple alone was not enough and that injustice and idolatry would bring judgment, which provoked strong resistance.
Was there hope in Jeremiah's message?
Yes. While Jeremiah announced coming destruction, he also stressed that God's relationship with His people had not come to an end. Hope for repentance, return, and renewal is an important part of his message.
