Question 1

How does "churches near me" work?

Accepted Answer

When you allow location access, your browser shares your position with this page and the distance to each church is calculated on your device. Churches are then sorted from nearest to farthest, and the closest ones are shown on the map.

Question 2

Is my location sent to your server?

Accepted Answer

No. Your location is used only in your browser to sort the list and center the map. It is never sent to our server, stored, or shared with anyone.

Question 3

What if I do not want to share my location?

Accepted Answer

That is completely fine. You can still browse the full guide by neighborhood and denomination, use the map, and open any church for its address and directions — no location access required.

Question 4

Which churches are included?

Accepted Answer

The guide covers churches in Kadıköy, on the Asian side of Istanbul, across several traditions — Protestant, Catholic, Greek Orthodox, Armenian, Syriac, Anglican and others. Only churches with map coordinates can be ranked by distance.

Question 5

How do I get to the nearest church?

Accepted Answer

Open a church from the list to see its full address, map and a "Directions" button that opens Google Maps, including a public-transport option. Service times are shown when they have been confirmed.
