Personal Data Protection
Personal Data Protection and Processing Policy
Data Controller
As the Kadıköy Church (site operator), we act as the data controller within the scope of Law No. 6698 on the Protection of Personal Data ("KVKK"). The official identity and contact details of the legal entity operating the guide will be updated on this page.
Personal Data Processed
Personal data we process through our website: the name, email address, phone number and message content you submit via the contact form; the name and email address you provide for the newsletter subscription; and technical data such as the cookies used for the site to function and your IP address.
Data Processing Purposes
Your personal data is processed for the purposes of: responding to the requests you submit through the contact form (information corrections, new church suggestions, etc.), sending the newsletter in line with your explicit consent, ensuring the security and proper functioning of the site, and fulfilling legal obligations.
Your Rights
Within the scope of KVKK Article 11, you have the right to: learn whether your personal data is processed, request information if processed, learn the purpose of processing and whether it is used appropriately, know third parties to whom it is transferred domestically/abroad, request correction, request deletion/destruction, request that the notified transactions be notified to third parties to whom they were transferred, object in case of a result against you due to analysis exclusively through automated systems, request compensation for damage in case of damage due to unlawful processing.
Retention Period
Your personal data is stored for the period necessary for processing purposes and within the framework of legal retention obligations. When the purpose is eliminated, your data will be deleted, destroyed or anonymized.
Application Method
To exercise your rights under KVKK, you can apply to us through the contact form on the site. Your applications will be evaluated within 30 days at the latest. The data controller's official correspondence address and email will be published on this page.
Push Notifications
If you wish, you can receive "Verse of the Day" notifications through your browser. This is entirely OPTIONAL and is enabled only when you explicitly grant permission. Notifications are delivered through the infrastructure of our service provider OneSignal Inc. (USA); for this purpose, technical data such as an anonymous subscription identifier (push token) and your browser/device type are processed — your identity or contact details are not shared. You can withdraw the permission at any time from your browser's site settings (by revoking the notification permission).
Newsletter, Email Course, Community and Analytics
Subscription to the newsletter and the "Bible in 30 Days" email course begins with your explicit consent and using DOUBLE OPT-IN (confirming the link sent to your email); for these mailings only your name (optional) and email address are processed, solely for the relevant sending purpose, and you can unsubscribe at any time via the one-click link at the bottom of every email. Leaving an email address when submitting a community question is OPTIONAL and is used only to notify you when your question is answered; your IP address is NOT stored for these submissions. Internal site search queries are recorded ANONYMOUSLY (without linking IP, user identity or personal data) in order to improve the service and identify missing content, and are deleted after at most 90 days. A regular (weekly) summary report is sent to the site operator; this report consists only of aggregate and anonymous counts and contains no personal data.
Contact
You can submit requests regarding your personal data through the contact form on the site.
Kadıköy Meetups applications
The data controller is the Kadıköy Kilise site operator. Scheduled event registrations and private group requests collect your name, email, optional phone, adult/child counts, and any preferred date and request text. Children’s names, religious or health details and identity documents are not requested. These details are not published publicly.
The information is used to review your request, verify your email address, manage participation and capacity, send event confirmation, cancellation and programme-change messages, and respond to your request. Acknowledging the privacy notice is not marketing consent and does not subscribe you to a newsletter.
Only authorised site administrators access application records. The recipient email address and necessary message content are processed through Purelymail for email delivery. General information about hosting, email technical records and international data transfers appears elsewhere on this page.
Personal fields in event registrations are anonymised 90 days after an event ends or is cancelled. Personal fields in private requests are anonymised 90 days after a request is closed. Unverified applications are included in this cleanup. Aggregate participation counts that cannot be linked to an individual may be retained.
You can withdraw participation using the secure cancellation link sent to you. Contact the site operator at the email address below to request information, correction, deletion or exercise other KVKK rights.
