Verse of the Day — November 17, 2025: 1 Thessalonians 5:18

18 In everything give thanks, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus toward you.

World English Bible (WEB)

Gratitude is easy when the day has been kind. Its deeper work begins when the hours feel crowded and the heart is tired. This kind of thanks does not pretend everything is fine. It notices that even in a hard day, life has not been emptied of grace. A simple place to begin may be something ordinary:…

“Give thanks in all circumstances”

The letter's closing counsel, commending joy, prayer and thankfulness in every circumstance as a habit of life, and picturing a community that encourages one another.

What Remains in Hand

Gratitude is easy when the day has been kind. Its deeper work begins when the hours feel crowded and the heart is tired. This kind of thanks does not pretend everything is fine. It notices that even in a hard day, life has not been emptied of grace.

A simple place to begin may be something ordinary: water running over your hands, wind during a short walk, a message that arrived at the right time. Gratitude may not remove the weight at once, but it gently turns the heart toward what is still being given.
